Kenya to play away in opening and closing matches as AFCON 2021 qualification fixtures are released

The fixtures for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers are out, with Kenya’s Harambee Stars, placed in Group G now aware of the fixture scheduled for their route to the finals.

Harambee Stars will play both their opening and closing qualification matches away from home. First on the roster will be a game in Cairo, against African giants, Egypt on the week of 11 – 19 November.

Match Day 2

Stars will then welcome west African side Togo in their second match of the qualifiers and another home match against Comoros will follow on Match Day 3 of the qualifiers.

Match Day 4 will see Harambee Stars travel to Comoros before hosting Egypt in Nairobi on Match Day 5, then wrapping up the qualifiers in November of 2020 with an away trip to Togo.

Second appearance

Kenya will be gunning for a second straight appearance at the AFCON finals after ending a 16 – year absence to appear at the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt, where the team got eliminated at the group stages.
