Kenyan international Michael Olunga continued with his fine streak at Japanese second tier side Kashiwa Reysol with yet another goal as his team came from a goal down to beat Tochigi SC 2 – 1 on Saturday 27 July.
The goal, Olunga’s eighth of the season, which came in the 11th minute, started a comeback for Kashiwa Reysol after conceding in the second minute of the clash courtesy of Daichi Inui’s strike.
The three points were sealed right at the start of the second half by Brazilian Cristiano.
The only regret Olunga will carry from the game is the yellow card he picked three minutes after his goal. The yellow card is his second of the season and third at Reysol after picking one last season. He is currently the team’s lead scorer, one ahead of Cristiano who has seven goals.
Seventh straight win
The win was Olunga’s team’s seventh in a row and saw Reysol hold on second place in the league, on 46 points, same tally as league leaders Kyoto Sanga, who have a better goal difference.
