Abuya, Patilah fly out to Dar after TZ loss

Duke Abuya and Patilah Omoto are back with Kariobangi Sharks after their sojourns in the 2020 CHAN qualifiers against Tanzania with the Kenyan national team.

The two players flew to Tanzania, where William Muluya’s team is currently conducting its pre-season preparations, on Monday 5 August just a day after international duty.

Sharks had four representatives with the national team with the others being keeper John Oyemba and striker Sydney Lokale but only Abuya and Omoto have linked up with the team in Dar Es Salaam.

90 minutes

Abuya featured in both legs against Tanzania, playing the full 90 minutes in each match while Omoto was an unused sub in both games.

Stars failed to make it to the final qualifying round, losing on post-match penalties after a 0-0 aggregate score.

Sharks on their part played to a 1-1 draw with TPL heavyweights Yanga FC in their first pre-season friendly in Dar on Sunday and will face off against KMC on Tuesday at the Uhuru Stadium from 8AM local time before jetting back.
