On Sunday 4 August will go down in history as one of the sad days in Kenyan football. It is the day Kenya saw its chances of making it to the first ever African Nations Championships (CHAN) go up in smoke after a loss, at home, to rivals Tanzania.
After a barren draw, replicating the first leg result, the match headed to post match penalties to break the tie and Tanzania carried the day with a 4 – 1 win after Michael Kibwage saw his penalty saved and Joash Onyango blasted high.
Tanzania converted all their opening four kicks and Clifton Miheso’s successful conversion would not yield much for the home team.
