Gor Mahia have confirmed Kenneth Muguna as the club’s new captain to replace Harun Shakava who left last month to join Zambia outfit Nkana FC.
Muguna, who is in his second spell at the club, will be deputized by defender Joash Onyango in Gor’s new look squad ahead of the 2019-20 season.
K’Ogalo announced Steven Polack on Thursday as the club’s new head coach following Hassan Oktay’s departure and the Brit will have 17 new players that he will have to integrate to the squad.
Muguna joined Gor in 2017 from Western Stima after being named the KPL’s Most Valuable Player in 2016. He joined the pro-ranks a year later but his stint at Albanian side Tirana FC did not pan out as desired forcing him to return to Gor ahead of the 2018-19 season.
The 23 year old’s first duty as captain will come in the shape of Burundian champions Aigle Noir who Gor are set to face on Sunday in the first-leg of the two team’s CAF Champions League group stage qualifiers, away in Bujumbura.
