Tera features as Saburtalo begin Europa League campaign on a winning note

Kenyan U23 international Alwyn Tera featured for 71 minutes for Saburtalo as the Georgia based side began their UEFA Europa League campaign with a 2-1 away win over FC Ararat of Armenia in the tournament’s third-round qualifier first-leg encounter played on Tuesday 6 August.

Tera’s replacement, Levan Kenia, came off the bench to score the winner in the 76th minute in a frenzied five minute spell that begun with Sandro Altunashvili cancelling out Anton Kobyalko’s first half opener.

Saburtalo dropped down to Europe’s second tier tournament after exiting the Champions League in the second-round qualifiers and will now host the second-leg of this encounter on Wednesday 14 looking to make the group stages.
