Ndikumana backed to fit in Farouk’s shoes at Bandari

Bandari FC made one massive transfer coup in signing Sofapaka FC’s Burundian goalkeeper Justin Ndikumana andhead coach Bernard Mwalala is convinced in him, they have the perfect replacement for Farouk Shikhalo.

Shikhalo, Bandari’s top keeper for two seasons, was plucked off the coastal side by Tanzanian heavyweights, Yanga SC right after the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), in which he was part of the Kenya national team, Harambee Stars.

Will do well

Ndikumana was released by Sofapaka in the past week and found a new abode at Bandari, where Mwalala is confident he will do well as he offers competition to Michael Wanyika, who stood between the sticks in the team’s CAF Confederations Cup game against Al Ahly Shendy on Saturday 10 August.

“We have looked at Justin and I think it is a big move for us because we are getting a very capable keeper at the high level just like Farouk.

“We also have Wanyika, an equally good keeper so I think in goalkeeping department all my problems stand solved,” Mwalala said.

Ndikumana is however unavailable for Bandari’s Confederations Cup assignments, for now.
