The Kenya women national team, Harambee Starlets will take on Lucy, the senior Ethiopia women national team, in a friendly clash slated for Saturday 17 August at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The friendly match, planned by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) in conjunction with their Ethiopian counterparts, is aimed at helping Starlets gear up for the upcoming Olympic Games qualifier against Malawi set for Wednesday 28 August, with the second leg slated for Sunday 1 September at the Moi International Stadium Center (MISC), Kasarani
Starlets kicked off their residential training on Monday 12 August in Nairobi in preparation for the crucial qualifier which came after Kenya was handed a bye in the first round.
Should Starlets pass the Malawi test, they will meet either Gabon or Ghana in the third round of the tournament.
Starlets, who played at a first major competition in the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON), will be looking to go all the way to the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.
