Newly promoted FKF Div One side Sindo FC were today beaten 1-0 in regular time and 4-3 on post-match penalty shoot-outs when they traveled to Western Stima FC for a pre-season match-up.
Sindo, coached by former Kisumu Hot Stars tactician Henry Adero, managed to exhibit some neat football in the opening 45 of their encounter against Stima today at the Moi Stadium- a match played from 2 pm.
From the opposing dugout, coach Salim Babu had opted to parade a few of his new acquisitions and had former Muhoroni Youth man Hassan Kikoyo leading the attack. Youngsters Abdallah Chamberi and Ibrahim Ochieng started in the midfield and had a torrid afternoon dealing with the determined boys from Sindo.
The first half- though laden with chances by the senior side Stima, ended in a barren stalemate. The visitors though had shown intent at causing trouble and Babu would unleash his more potent charges in the second half.
It would be Oromchan Villa’s strike that would settle the game in the second half- and the penalty shoot-outs that followed thereafter a mere fun event.
Sindo scored three from the spot while Stima converted four- just for good measure to further assert their superiority over the tier three side.
