In a bid to have fans throng the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday 17 August when the national women’s team, Harambee Starlets, take on their counterparts from Ethiopia in a friendly match, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has gone ahead to waive all the gate charges for the match.
FKF has lined-up the friendly to help the David Ouma coached side prepare for their upcoming 2020 Olympics two-legged qualifier against Malawi that is set to be played at the end of August.
The gates for the friendly against Ethiopia who are nicknamed Lucy, will be opened at 11 am with the match kicking off at 3 pm.
Meanwhile, the Ethiopian team is expected to jet into the country on Thursday evening and will head straight to camp in Machakos.
Starlets are set to face Malawi away, ten days later after the Ethiopia friendly with the second leg set for Sunday 1 September at the Moi International Stadium Center (MISC), Kasarani.
A win for Starlets against Malawi will see the team faceoff against either Gabon or Ghana in the third and final qualifier for a chance to grace next year’s Olympic games in Japan.
