The national U15 boys’ team will begin their CECAFA U15 journey against their counterparts from Somalia this Friday 16 August in the opening match of the inaugural regional tournament that is being hosted by Eritrea.
The match will kick off from 2PM local time in Eritrea’s capital Asmara.
The Junior Stars, who have been brought together by FKF’s Centre of Excellence and are coached by Sagar Lakhani, have been pooled in Group A alongside hosts Eritrea, Sudan, Burundi and Somalia.
Eleven teams had initially been confirmed for the tournament but Djibouti pulled out earlier in the week.
Below are the groups with the top two nations in each group qualifying for the semi-finals that will be played on August 28 with the final coming up two days later on the 30th.
Group A: Kenya, Burundi, Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea
Group B: Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, South Sudan
