Zambian Super League (ZSL) side Nkana FC have unveiled a 32-man squad for the upcoming 2019/20 domestic league season which will see the Kitwe based side become the second team in the topflight to have three Kenyan internationals in its ranks.
Harun Shakava became the latest Kenyan star to land in Zambia, joining Nkana from Gor Mahia earlier in the month.
For the past year, Nkana has been home to Kenyan stars Musa Mohammed and Duncan Otieno and Shakava’s arrival, sees Beston Chambeshi’s side now have three Kenyan internationals as rivals Zesco United who for the past three seasons have enjoyed the services of Jesse Were, David Owino and Anthony Akumu.
Shakava, who has won five league titles with Gor Mahia, two as captain, will wear number 13 as he begins his first stint abroad. The number was worn by Ghanaian defender Richard Ocran who has since switched to the number 15.
Shakava’s predecessor as Gor captain, Musa, maintains with the #5 as does former AFC Leopards captain Duncan Otieno who keeps a hold of his #26 from last season.
Meanwhile, the 12 time Zambian champions have confirmed that striker Idris Mbombo has returned to the club following a short spell with Sudanese side Al Hilal.
Mbombo claimed the top scorers gong in 2018 with 20 goals as Nkana finished second in the league behind Zesco.
