Focus shifts to CAF action for Gor Mahia, Bandari

After facing off in a pulsating Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Super Cup clash, Kenya’s representative at the CAF club competitions, Gor Mahia and Bandari will be shifting focus to continental assignments when they play the return matches of their respective ties.

After a barren draw in their first leg, Gor Mahia will host Burundian side Aigle Noir on Sunday 25 August at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC), Kasarani, hoping to pick a win and advance.

On the other hand, Bandari who also played out a barren draw against Sudanese side Al Ahly Shandy at the MISC, Kasarani on Saturday 17 August in the first leg will be looking forward to getting a positive result away in Sudan on Friday 23 August.

A win or a scoring draw would be enough for Bandari to advance, and should that happen, they will face off with either Tunisian side US Ben Guerdane or South Sudanese side Amarat United in the first round.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia, will be up against the winner of the preliminary round match pitting AS SONIDEP (Niger) against USM Alger (Algeria), should they go past Aigle Noir on Sunday.

Bandari checked in at Khartoum Airport earlier on Wednesday 21 August and had a light training session ahead of their game in two days.
