Kenyan national football U19 champions St Anthony’s Kitale Boys were yesterday dumped out of the ongoing East Africa School games in Arusha Tanzania by tournament favorites Jinja SS from Uganda.
Despite coming from behind to tie the scores for 1-1 in the tie by half time, The Solidarity Boys could not keep the Ugandan side at bay much longer and soon succumbed to a second goal as Jinja won the quarter-final clash 2-1.
Silver medalists at the nationals meanwhile, Dagoreti High School, have made advance into the semi-final by edging LDK from Rwanda by two goals to one.
The Nairobi County champions went into a first-half rampage, leading 2-0 and only a slight lapse in concentration gifted the Rwandese school some lifeline in the match. The goal by LDK set the game ton a lively yet nervous finish for Dagoreti but they held on to win 2-1.
Dagoreti play their semi-final today against Buddo SS- a school that edged St Anthony’s Kitale 1-0 in the group stages.
