Former Kenya national team, Harambee Stars head coach Adel Amrouche has been confirmed by the Botswana Football Associate (BFA) as the country’s new national team head coach.
Amrouche was appointed on Tuesday 27 August and will assemble his own technical team after the up coming tie against Malawi in the World Cup qualifiers.
The 51-year-old has previously coached Equatorial Guinea, Burundi, Kenya and most recently Libya, in between spells at Algerian sides USM Alger and MC Alger.
Amrouche resigned his post with Libya a few days before the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria in October 2018 citing unpaid wages and poor working conditions at the team
Botswana has been drawn in Group H of the 2021 African
Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they will face Amrouche’s home nation Algeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
