As the 2019-20 off-season transfer window approaches closure, Wazito FC have again dipped their hand in the pot and brought onboard midfielder Ali Abondo and Matthew Tayo, two players with considerable experience in the KPL.
The club confirmed the two signings on Friday 30 August, just two days before the transfer window shuts down on September 2.
The club has however not revealed the duration of the two deals.
Abondo, who has won the KPL title with Tusker and Gor Mahia, joins after spending the last three years in the paid ranks in South Africa with Ajax Cape Town and Bloemfontein Celtic while Tayo, a former Tusker and Kariobangi Sharks winger, comes in from URA of his native Uganda.
The two signings take the number of new faces at the 2018-19 NSL champions to 12.
Wazito, who are set to embark on their second season in the top tier after winning promotion last season, have been on a recruiting spree as they attempt to maintain their status in the KPL and not go right back down as they did in their debut season back in 2018.
Some of the other high profile players to have been side by the team in the current window include, Karim Nzigiyimana, Elvis Rupia, Joshua Nyatini, Abouba Sibomana, Pistone Mutamba and Bernard Odhiambo.
