Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia will leave for Algeria on Thursday 12 September for their CAF Champions League first round clash against USM Alger and a contingent of 22 has been picked for the trip.
A total of 16 players and six officials will be aboard the Qatar Airways flight that the team will use, with Ugandan defender Shafik Batambuze absent from the list selected for the Saturday 14 September clash.
Maurice Ojwang could get his debut at Gor Mahia in this game after being slotted in the traveling team, replacing Batambuze who picked an injury in the win over Aigle Noir in the return leg of the preliminary round clash.
Kenneth Muguna, who is enjoying a fine season so far, will once again lead the team out in the 7pm EAT kickoff, with goalkeepers David Mapigano and Boniface Oluoch on the traveling team as well.
As they take on USM Alger, Gor Mahia will not only be seeking a first leg advantage, but also their first away win in 11 Champions League matches.
