Only 7 goals have been scored in Week Two of the 2019-20 Kenyan Premier League, a giant drop from the 26 that were scored in Week One. The biggest contributors to Week One, Gor Mahia with 5, were, however, missing in action due to continental engagements. So too were Bandari FC.
The two giants’ missing out meant that Zoo FC, with three goals last week, also sat out week two action with their opening day rivals Chemelil Sugar also getting a rest.
Three of the seven goals from week two were scored out in Bungoma’s Sudi Stadium as Nzoia Sugar FC took an unlikely 2-1 fall to SoNy Sugar FC. Having missed a chance from the spot to go 1-0 up through Collins Wakhungu, the home side soon found themselves trailing by two goals- damage inflicted by Stephen Cisse Onyango and Salmon Agogo.
Kevin Juma would pull one back but it would prove too little too late as SoNy recorded their first win of the season.
A draw could have been an expected result when Tusker faced off with Mathare United on Saturday, and another draw fans got. Despite taking the lead through skipper Timothy Otieno from the spot, Coach Robert Matano’s men could not hold on for just an extra minute as Klinsmann Omulanga struck from the edge of the box for 1-1 deep in injury time.
The final two goals came later on in the day as Kakamega Homeboyz- sent into the lead by youngster Peter Thiong’o, also found themselves some slippery feet in the closing stages as former Tusker forward George Bill Oporia draw level for Posta Rangers in the 88th minute.
There was only one winner in week two; SoNy Sugar FC, with everyone else sharing the spoils.
No one from the scorers of Week One, was on target in Week Two.

Western Stima 0-0 Wazito
Nzoia Sugar 1-2 SoNy Sugar
