On the opening weekend of the 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season, a total of 26 goals were scored as the league resumed on a high. The same has so far not been the story of the second week.
From the opening seven matches of Match Day 2, only seven goals have been scored with AFC Leopards’ barren draw with Kariobangi Sharks and KCB’s 0 – 0 draw with new boys Kisumu All Stars completing the low scoring weekend.
Weekend of draws
AFC Leopards hosted Sharks at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC), Kasarani as KCB and Kisumu All Stars faced off at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
At the close of the weekend, only one of the 14 teams that player picked maximum points – Sony Sugar. The Awendo based team saw off Nzoia Sugar 2 – 1 in the Millers Derby at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.
Gor Mahia, Bandari
Gor Mahia, who are in Algeria for a CAF Champions League clash against USM Alger, will play their Match Day 2 clash against Chemelil Sugar on Thursday 19 September while Bandari who faced Tunisian side US Ben Guerdane will take on Zoo FC on Wednesday 18 September.
