Jesse Were hatrick sends Zesco top in Zambia

Jesse Were scored a hatrick for his Zambian side Zesco United as they sealed a 3-0 win over Nakambala Leopards in a rescheduled round 2 league fixture played on Wednesday 18 September in Mazabuka.

The Harambee Stars forward, who is enjoying an exceptional start to the new campaign, scored in the 15th, 45th and 51st minutes as Zesco claimed their second league win in as many matches to move to top of the ZSL standings.

The 30 year old former KPL top scorer has also scored in the Champions League with a goal in the tournament’s first round preliminaries against Swaziland side Green Mambas.

The former Mathare United and Tusker FC forward, who is Zesco’s all time leading top scorer, now has 83 goals to his name since moving to Zambia in 2016.
