The Kenya women national team, Harambee Starlets were edged out 3-2 by the Kenya U15 boys national team in a friendly match played on Thursday 26 September at Camp Toyoyo.
Captain Dorcas Shikobe opened the scores in the 18th minute, but U15 forward, Joseph Munala scored the equalizer in the 27th minute to see the first half end all square.
The second half was a tight game but Andrew Waliala of the Kenya U15 side, managed to squeeze in a brace, with goals in the 70th and 80th minutes.
Harambee Starlets are preparing for the first leg of their 2020 Olympic Games qualifier against Ghana and after the friendly match, coach, David Ouma, stated his confidence in the team, despite the defeat.
“I believe my team is capable of facing Ghana, we only need to improve the players’ aggression in the coming week,” he said on the Football Kenya Federation website
It was the fourth day of preparations for Starlets ahead of the Ghana game.
The first leg is set to be played on Friday 4 October, in Ghana and Starlets are scheduled to depart on Wednesday 2 October while the second leg will be played on Tuesday 8 October at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
