Zetech Sparks opened round 26 of the Kenya Women Premier League with a win, edging out Oserian Ladies 3-1 in a match staged at at Ruiru Grounds on Saturday 28 September.
It was Oserian who opened the scoring proceedings in the game, Sylvia Shilabukha weaving through the hosts defence in the 49th minute to slam hope the first of the afternoon. The Naivasha side’s celebrations didn’t last though, as Zetech grabbed the equalizer through Anyatu Alukwe in the 53rd minute
Zetech continued with their chase and Yvonne Kavere got the second goal for her team in the 65th minute, and 10 minutes later Elizabeth Wanyonyi put the icing on the cake, to see her team bag three crucial points.
Meanwhile, at Stima Club, hosts Spedag picked a 2-1 win over Kisumu All Starlets with Mary Odhiambo’s sixth minute goal before Winnie Okello scored an own goal in the 17th minute.
Kisumu All Starlets would get a consolation goal before halftime in the 37th minute through Merceline Adhiambo but they couldn’t fashion an equalizer.
Kisumu All Starlets will have a chance to redeem themselves when they play away to Kayole Starlets at Stima Club on Sunday 29 September.
