Masud pulls out of Mozambique friendly, Enosh called up

Algeria based Kenyan international Masud Juma will not be taking part in the Kenya national team, Harambee Stars’ international friendly match against Mozambique on Sunday 13 October.

The JS Kabilye man pulled out of the friendly match to be staged at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani (MISC) with injury, as confirmed by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and in his place, Enosh Ochieng of Ulinzi Stars has been called up.

Prolonged time out

Head coach Francis Kimanzi had listed Masud in his final team for the friendly match but a knee injury that has kept him out of action for his club will see his time out of the national team extended after failing to make an appearance at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Egypt.

His replacement, Enosh, will now be in the team for the fourth straight game since making his international debut in the CHAN qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam in July 2019 and in this match he will be gunning for his third cap at the team.

Coach Kimanzi will now have in form Kashiwa Reysol forward Michael Olunga, Zesco United forward Jesse Were and Enosh as his options upfront.

The team will hit camp on Monday 7 October to prepare for the Mozambique match.
