The Guinea national team is preparing for the upcoming international break where they are set to face off against Comoros and Chile and head coach Didier Six has named a 23-man squad that will do duty for the Syli Nationale with America based Florentin Pogba, making a return to the fold after a two year absence.
The Atlanta United defender, who is the elder brother to Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, last played for Guinea in 2017 and returns to the team hoping to add to his 21 caps for the West African nation.
The upcoming assignments have also seen three other players return to the national team after prolonged absences.
Bulgarian based winger Ibrahim Conte and Israel based midfielder Soumah Seydouba are some of the returnees.
Liverpool’s Naby Keita and Napoli’s Amadou Diawara are some of the notable names included in Six’s squad.
The upcoming friendlies are geared at helping the team preparing for the upcoming 2021 AFCON Qualifiers in which Guinea have been placed in Group A alongside fellow West Africans Mali, Liberia, Chad and Namibia.
