Ulinzi Stars held home side Western Stima to a barren draw in the two sides’ Round 5 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) fixture at Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday 5 October.
In a game of few and wide chances, Western Stima will be the more disappointed to have taken the result, having had the best of chances when Hassan Kikoyo tested Timothy Odhiambo in the Ulinzi goal in the second half.
The keeper did well, and especially on the second chance, when he pulled a fine fingertip save to keep out a dipping volley.
At the close of the game, Stima went joint top with Gor Mahia on nine points while Ulinzi Stars rose to third with eight points.
Meanwhile, in Kisumu County, at the Chemelil Sports Complex, Kariobangi Sharks picked three points for the first time in the season after seeing off the hosts 2 – 0 with goals from Patilla Omoto and Duke Abuya.
