The Kenya U20 national team, Rising Stars are set for yet their biggest game – the 2019 CECAFA U20 Championships final, against Tanzania on Saturday 5 October at the FUFA Technical Training Center in Jinja and head coach Stanley Okumbi believes he has the perfect plan for it.
Kenya saw off Eritrea 1 – 0 in the semi final to set up a second meeting at the tournament with Tanzania, having played to a 2 – 2 draw in Group B and Okumbi knows this aspect makes the final a very tough encounter.
What it takes
He expects a very open game, judging from their Group B encounter but at the end of it, he says his charges have what it takes to handle the opposition.
“Of course it is going to be a tough game; we met in the same group and it was a good display of football. It will be the same in the final where the two best teams at the tournament meet.
“They (Tanzania) have good players, they have quality and it is a promise for the future for them. Right now it is about the final and we have our plan on how to stop them, and how to attack. We have to be disciplined defensively and offensively and then everything we will be okay,” he said.
The match is set to kick off at 4pm EAT.
