Migori Youth end Nairobi Stima’s unbeaten start as NSL round 7 commences

Migori Youth produced arguably the biggest shock of round 7 of the National Super League (NSL) that kicked off on Saturday 5 October by claiming a 1-0 win over title favourites Nairobi Stima at the latter’s Karuturi grounds.

In actual fairness, the result should not be a shock as Migori’s performances this season have been nothing short of exemplary with this latest win being their fourth.

Clinton Okoth scored the game’s only goal that secured the win that lifts Migori up to 6th place on the standings with 13 points, one point adrift Stima who see their unbeaten start ended.

St. Joseph win at last

Elsewhere at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru, hosts St Joseph Youth, produced another shocker by claiming all three points against Bidco United courtesy of a 1-0 win. The win, which was sealed thanks to Daniel Kamau’s first half effort, is St. Joseph’s first of the season and lifts them out of the relegation zone and into 15th place with four points.

The day’s heavy result was issued by newcomers Vihiga Bullets who put three past Kibera Black Stars in a 3-1 win at the Camp Toyoyo.

Bullets, who are now 8th with 11 points thanks to the win, got their goals through Edwin Wamalwa, Levis Baraza and Jackson Oketch with Peter Onduso getting the consolation for Black Stars who remain in 14th place with five points.

Nairobi City Stars, who will be in action on Sunday against Kenya Police, still top the standings with 16 points while on the opposite end of the log, Nothern Wanderers sit yet to register their first point(s) of the season.
