Gor Mahia and Bandari FC will know their fate as to which teams they will face off against in the race to grace this season’s CAF Confederations Cup group stages with the draw for the tournaments playoff round set to be conducted today, Wednesday 9 October, from 7PM CAT at the Hilton Pyramids Hotel in Cairo.
Gor, who dropped down for the CAF Champions League after their aggregate loss to USM Alger of Algeria, have been placed in Pot A of the draw which has the teams with the highest coefficient ranking while Bandari, in only their second continental sojourn, have been placed in Pot D, which has the teams with the lowest coefficiency.
Teams from the same Pot and the same country cannot be pitted against each other in this round.
Pot A has the likes of Ghana’s Asante Kotoko, Uganda’s KCCA and Tanzania’s Yanga FC.
Pot D on its part has the most number of teams with South Africa’s Bidvest Wits, Congo’s DC Motema Pembe and Uganda’s Proline among the highlights.
