The international break has given KPL clubs the chance to go back to the drawing board and fine tune on areas that they have been exposed in the five rounds that have been played thus far.
One of the teams’ that has already taken their preparations up a notch is current league leaders Gor Mahia who have lined-up a friendly against Tanzanian side Alliance FC to be played on Thursday 10 October at the Camp Toyoyo.
The club announced the friendly on its social media handles with the game set to kick off at 3PM. Access to the ground has been set at Kshs 100.
Alliance FC, who currently lie in 11th place in the Tanzanian Premier League, are the parent club to current Gor winger Dickson Ambundo who joined K’Ogalo at the start of the season on-loan.
They have had a lackluster start to the season with only one win from the four matches that they have played.
Gor will be without four of their first team regulars for the friendly as well as head coach Steven Polack.
Captain Kenneth Muguna, defender Joash Onyango and midfielders Cliff Miheso and Lawrence Juma will miss the game as they have been called up to the national team for the upcoming friendly against Mozambique while Polack has taken a one week vacation and has flown back to his native Finland.
In Polack’s absence, assistant coach Patrick Odhiambo is expected to lead the team which will see more of the team’s fringe players given a chance.
After the international break, Gor have a league tie against Kariobangi Sharks on Mashujaa Day October 20.
