Harambee Stars await Olunga as Mozambique preps enter day 3

Harambee Stars have entered day 3 of their preparations for the upcoming international friendly against Mozambique with only striker Michael Olunga the only player yet to have linked up with the squad.

The Japan based forward will link up with the team on Wednesday evening.

Skipper Victor Wanyama leads the foreign contingent of players with young fullback Yusuf Mainge among them.

The latest call of duty will see keeper Patrick Matasi miss out with head coach Francis Kimanzi calling up Zambia based Ian Otieno and Ulinzi Stars’ Timothy Otieno instead.

Smooth preps

The preparations have been smooth much to the joy of Kimanzi who believes the belief within the squad is a sign that the team will get a positive result against the Mambas on Sunday.

“We are happy that most of the players have reported to camp,” Kimanzi is quoted as saying on FKF’s official portal.

“The team training sessions are good and if keep the morale we will be able to get a positive result.”

The game against Mozambique will be the second for Kimanzi since being appointed as Stars coach, for the third time, in August. The first game for the former Mathare United coach was against Uganda in September in Nairobi. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
