Gor Mahia and Bandari Football Clubs will sit out week 7 of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) fixtures with engagement on the continental front. The two, drawn against DC Motema Pembe (DR Congo) and Horoya SC (Guinea) respectively, will be representing the country in the first leg of the final round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
KPL champions Gor play hosts of the first of their two-legged affair and will welcome the DR Congo giants on Sunday at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani from 4 pm. DCMP currently lie second in their DR Congo Ligue 1 table standings, two points behind TP Mazembe.
Domestic cup winners Bandari FC on the other hand first travel to the West to take on Guinean side Horoya Sports Club- a match that will be played from 7 pm Kenyan time on Sunday.
In the previous round, Horoya were winners through penalty shoot-outs against Algerian side JS Kabylie after drawing 2-2 on aggregate.
Both second legs of the ties will be played on the 3rd day of November and the winners on aggregate making it to the CAF CC Group stage. Gor were relegated from the CAF Champions League after falling to USMA of Algeria in the ultimate round of the Champions League while Bandari had done themselves well in the second tier- dispatching- among other teams, Tunisian side US Ben Guerdane in their last encounter.
