AFC Leopards rose to second on the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) standings after a 2 – 1 win over Sofapaka in a Match Day 7 clash staged at the Narok County Stadium on Sunday 27 October.
At the same venue, Wazito FC strugles continued with an uninspiring show that saw the team play to a goalless draw with Posta Rangers in the early kickoff match.
After a goalless match, AFC Leopards and Sofapaka served the needed entertainment in the second match of the day.
Leopards took an early lead, courtesy of John Mark Makwata’s superb goal after controlling well and turning at the edge of the box before slamming home in the 11th minute.
Makwata was at it again in the 38th minute after getting to the end of a Dennis Sikhayi cross to double the visitors’ lead.
Sofapaka would pull back one in the 81st minute through Ronald Okoth but their best efforts could not prevent a second straight defeat as they dropped to 13th place on seven points after seven matches.
