The National Super League (NSL) Match Day 10 saw league leaders Nairobi City Stars lose two points in their chase for automatic promotion with fellow contenders Bidco United closing in.
In their Sunday 27 October clash against Mount Kenya United at Camp Toyoyo, City Stars took an early lead through Jimmy Bageya but they were pegged back by veteran John Njoroge’s 45th minute goal.
The tie ended 1 – 1 and with Bidco United seeing off Vihiga United 3-2 at Bukhungu Stadium, the leaders’ gap was reduced to just four points.
In another game staged at the Ruaraka Stadium, Ushuru FC fell 0-1 to visiting Vihiga United and in the end dropped to seventh place after going winless in four matches.
Meanwhile, Nairobi Stima stayed in the promotion radar with a 1 – 0 win over Modern Coast Rangers. The win saw them hold on to third place on 28 points, same to Migori Youth who picked a walkover after FC Talanta failed to turn up in Migori.
At Gusii Stadium, Shabana FC rose to sixth place with a 1-0 win over Coast Stima FC as Kenya Police won the battle of the law enforcers, beating Administration Police 1-0 at Camp Toyoyo.
