Nzoia Sugar FC’s utility back player Rama Mwenda will be out for two months after suffering a right iliac bone linear fracture during their round 7 of the Kenyan Premier League clash against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday 26th out in Sudi.
Rama, who had bee immediately hospitalized at the Life Care Hospital in Bungoma, was discharged on Tuesday 29th and team physician Amir Magwara confirms that he will be out till January.
”Rama has positively improved and will be available come early January or mid of the same month. We understand he will miss a lot of the remaining first leg fixtures but might be ready for the last two matches of January which will be an away fixture against Bandari FC and a home tie against Chemelil Sugar,” Amir reveals to Soka.
In the same Kariobangi Sharks clash- Nzoia also saw Nigol Mohammed stretchered off and further assessment to his injury has revealed only a soft tissue problem. Amir says he will be back in action in no time.
”As for Nigol, it wasn’t much of a big scare even if he didn’t complete the match. He is doing well and will be back very soon from the soft tissue injury,” he adds.
The Sugar Millers have won twice in their last five matches and will have to aim for consistency when they next travel to Tusker FC. They currently sit at 11th position on the 18-team log and face a Tusker that dropped all points in round seven against Ulinzi Stars.
They have won twice in their last six meetings against Tusker- one of those, their most recent clash of May 2019. The Brewers host quite a handful of former Nzoia players who include Hillary Wandera, Luke Namanda, Vincent Ngesa, Gabriel Wandera, and Boniface Muchiri.
