Leopards miss chance to go top with draw against Ulinzi as Chemelil earn first point

AFC Leopards and Ulizni Stars played to a 0-0 draw in a Round 8 KPL fixture played at the Kenyatta Stadium on Saturday, a day that also saw the relegation battle between Kisumu All Stars and Chemelil Sugar end in a 1-1 share of the spoils.

Leopards could have ascended to the top of the KPL log with 17 points if they would have secured a win against the Soldiers but now drop to 3rd with 15 points, this is after Tusker FC won in an earlier kickoff against Nzoia Sugar to move into 1st place with 16 points.

Robert Matano’s charges are now tied with second place Gor Mahia on points.

Ulinzi on their part move one place up to 5th with 13 points.

In another tie played on Saturday, both Kisumu All Stars and Chemelil Sugar earned a point in a 1-1 draw at the Moi Stadium. The point is the first to be registered by Chemelil this season. But it however still leaves them bottom of the standings, two points adrift of second from bottom All Stars, who also are yet to win a game this season.
