Third Sofa stint begins on a high for Baraza

John Baraza begun his third stint as head coach at Sofapaka with a win as his team defeated Wazito FC 2-1 in a round 9 KPL encounter played at the Narok Stadium on Sunday 10 November.

Goals from Brian Nyakhan and Kepha Aswani secured the three points for Batoto Ba Mungu with Joe Waithira’s equalizer turning out to be a mere consolation.

Alves’ resignation

Baraza took over at Sofa following Divaldo Alves’ resignation on Saturday after a spate of poor results.

He has twice taken up the mantle at the 2009 KPL champions in mid-season with the last being last season where he replaced Mellis Medo, the man he beat on Sunday in Narok.

The win which halts a three game winless run for Batoto Ba Mungu, sees them leapfrog their opponents to 10th place on the standings with 11 points, a point above Wazito who suffer their third loss of the season.
