Egypt striker Mohamed Salah will sit out Egypt’s 2021 African Cup of Nations qualification clashes against Kenya and Comoros with an ankle injury.
Salah who is yet to make any appearances for Egypt under new manager Hossam El-Badry, seemed to have sustained another knock on his ankle in Liverpool’s win over Manchester City after previously suffering the same injury in the 2-1 win over Leicester City.
The Liverpool player met up with his Egypt team mates in Cairo on Tuesday for tests on the injury and as quoted on BBC. The Egypt Football Association stated, “The injury needs a period of treatment to recover.”
Egypt will play Kenya on Thursday 14 November at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria starting 7pm EAT before travelling to face Comoros on Monday 18 November as Kenya returns home to take on Togo.
