The draw for the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge has been released with Kenya landing in a tough pool for the tournament set to be hosted in Uganda starting Saturday 7 December.
The defending champions, Kenya, are in Group C of the tournament and will battle it out with Tanzania, Zanzibar and Djibouti in the pool.
This will be the fourth time this year that Kenya gets to meet Tanzania. The two nations met at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt with Kenya winning 3-2.
They would face off again right after AFCON, in the 2021 African Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifiers where Tanzania emerged tops on post match penalties after barren draws across the two legs.
The rivalry in Group C will also be packaged in the shape of the 2017 finalists when Kenya faces off with Zanzibar, they team they trounced on post match penalties at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos to bag the title.
In Group A, hosts Uganda will have Burundi, Ethiopia and Eritrea to face, while Group B will have guest nation DR Congo, Sudan, South Sudan and Somalia.
