Nzoia Sugar FC and AFC Leopards played to an entertaining two-all draw at the Mumias Sports Complex, a round 12 Kenyan Premier League match played from 3 pm.
Thomas Wainaina rose the highest to head home a Robert Arot cross ball as Leopards stood stunned at the 6th-minute opener. It had come against the run of play.
Hansel Ochieng had al the intentions of hurting his former side but the 12th-minute attempt at a bicycle kick fell flat as the effort went over the bar. Five minutes later, it would be Boniface Mukhekhe with the equalizer, capitalizing on a loose rebound off goalkeeper Benson Mangala after a Whyvonne Isuza shot.
Just one minute before half time, and with Leopards prodding the Nzoia defense for a lead, the hosts struck out of nowhere. An unchecked Felicien Okanda broke through Nzoia’s left of attack and drove home a cross that was tapped into an empty net by Abraham Kogei. Nzoia led 2-1 at the break.
The second half began with the visitors on the ascendancy and dully drew level once more through Austine Odhiambo.
No moe goal would be scored as the two shared the spoils at 2-2.
