It was another gloomy afternoon in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) for Kariobangi Sharks as they suffered yet another defeat, this time at the hands of Tusker FC who hit them 3-1 at the MISC Kasarani on Friday 6 December.
Young forward Kevintom Machika had Sharks leading 1-0 until the 70th minute where William Muluya’s charges succumbed and let in three goals in the final 20 minutes.
George Blackberry Odhiambo started it all for Tusker, bundling the ball over the line after good work on the left from Luke Namanda.
Namanda would again play a vital role in the second goal, which came nine minutes after the equalizer as a David Majak header, saved by Brian Bwire came off the former Nzoia Sugar man and into the back of the net.
Namanda, having been dropped from the Harambee Stars squad for this year’s CECAFA championships, put the disappointment behind him and sealed an arguably man of the match performance with the third goal with a minute left on the clock.
The win sends Robert Matano’s side to within a point of top spot with 24 points while Sharks, who suffer their seventh loss of the season, drop down to second from bottom with eight points.
