Round 13 of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) continued on Saturday 7 December with two matches played out in Muhoroni and Bungoma.
Western Stima moved up to 4th on the KPL log thanks to a 2-1 win away at bottom side Chemelil Sugar in Muhoroni while Kakamega Homeboyz maintained with their 3rd place placing as they won 2-1 away to Nzoia Sugar in Bungoma.
A stoppage time strike from substitute Chris Masinza sealed the deal for Homeboyz adding to Shami Mwinyi’s leveler in the 76th minute that had cancelled out Robert Abonga’s opener for Nzoia that came in the 57th minute.
The result lifts Nicholas Muyoti’s men to 23 points, two points adrift of top spot while at the same time it stretches Nzoia’s winless run to six matches, leaving Collins Omondi’s side sitting just two points above the drop zone in 14th place with 10 points.
In Muhoroni, two goals in the space of four minutes from Baron Oketch (61) and Salim Hamisi (64) handed Stima the spoils against bottom side Chemelil who opened the scoring through Vincent Wanga in the 51st minute.
Salim Babu’s side now sit in 4th place with 21 points after claiming their fifth win of the season. Chemelil on their part continue to seek for their first win of the season with the loss being their 11th of the campaign.
On Sunday, KCB will entertain Posta Rangers in Machakos in the only match scheduled for the day.
