CECAFA 2019: Kimanzi names team to face Tanzania

The Kenya national team Harambee Stars opens its title defence at the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge on ssunday 8 December, with a 4pm EAT clash against Uganda at the Lugogo Stadium in Kampala and head coach Francis Kimanzi has picked his team for the clash.

Ulinzi Stars goalkeeper Timothy Odhiambo picked a slight injury in the run up to the game and Kimanzi will have Western Stima custodian Samuel Odhiambo starting between the sticks.

Skipper Joash

Gor Mahia man Joash Onyango will skipper the team while Gor Mahia skipper Kenneth Muguna will start in midfield, adding the attacking punch to a forward line that will have Ulinzi Stars forward Oscar Musa Wamalwa.

Samuel Olwande, and David Owino will man the defensive flanks while Johnstone Omurwa partners Joash in central defence.

Anthony Wambani, the only foreign based player in the team, gets his national team debut, and will offer the needed defensive cover in midfield while Timothy Otieno, Whyvonne Isuza, Moses Mudavadi, Musa Masika, among others start of the bench.
