A mid-season shake-up is expected at Tusker FC when the transfer window opens according to head coach Robert Matano.
Matano confirmed that he will be looking to strengthening his side, especially in the striking department.
Tusker currently sit top of the KPL log and very much on course to winning their first league title in four seasons.
“I have to do some changes and get some few players into the team in the mid-season especially in the striking department,” the two time KPL champion said on Sunday as he bemoaned his side’s profligacy in front of goal in the 0-0 draw with AFC Leopards.
One or two
“We will probably get one or two players in who can come in and work with the players we already have.”
Tusker have youngsters David Majak, Sydney Otieno and veteran forward Timothy Otieno as their leading men upfront and with the latter currently away on international duty with Kenya at the ongoing CECAFA Senior Challenge, the Brewers have seen their options stretched.
Sunday’s draw saw the 11 time KPL champions miss the chance of stretching their lead at the top of the standings and now sit with 28 points, just a point above their closest challengers and with defending champions Gor Mahia just three points adrift and having the advantage of having four games in hand, Matano is looking to put the right pieces in for a grueling second half of the season.
