Gor Mahia FC on Sunday 22nd December whipped Kisumu All Stars by three-goal to nil in a rescheduled round 13 Kenyan Premier League encounter played at the Moi Stadium from 3 pm, with All Stars hosts on the day.
With both teams heading into the clash on the back of financial woes that hampered their preparations towards the match, a plethora of missed chances occasioned the first half as both settled for a barren opening 45 minutes.
In the second half, however, the champions made the most of their very first chance when Nicholas Kipkirui connected well to a Bernard Ondiek cross for 1-1. Only one minute had been played after the resumption.
At the hour mark, skipper Kenneth Muguna drove home what would be Gor’s second as All Stars once again failed to take caution at the edge of the box. Four minutes later, Ondiek would force himself onto the score sheet with K’Ogalo’s third- making the most of a Muguna pass.
The victory means Gor goes back to the top of the log albeit on superior gal difference to Tusker FC who fall back to second on 28 points. The champions, however, still have three matches in hand.
