It has not been an easy opening leg of the season for Nzoia Sugar and after suffering eight losses in their opening 14 matches, it is time for a strategy rethink. The Bungoma based side has called for trials to aid beef up the team ahead of the second half of its Kenyan Premier League (KPL) campaign.
Head coach Charles Omondi has confirmed a number of players have asked to leave the team and as part of preparations for the seconds leg, he will be conducting trials to beef up, starting Monday 30 December, 2019 to Thursday 2 January, 2020 at the team’s base, Sudi Stadium.
From the exercise, he will be seeking to identify players across all playing departments and no age cap has been placed on the players seeking to try out for the chance.
“We have a number of players leaving the team so we have started the process of replacing them and beefing up. We are seeking players across all departments, and in the four days, we expect to find worthy replacements, and even better players,” he told Soka.
After the opening day of the trials, the coach will conduct double sessions for the final three days, with the morning sessions scheduled for 9am EAT and the afternoon sessions for 3pm EAT.
Players looking to attend are advised to sort out their travel and accommodation expenses expect for those expressly invited by the club.
