The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) will continue in midweek with a total of eight matches lined up on Wednesday 8 January across the country. Three of the 16 sides in action will miss services of key players as they serve one-match suspensions.
Sofapaka will be the most affected, with two players on the suspensions roster. Defender Faina Jacobs will be locked out as he has collected five yellow cards so far in the season, with the most recent coming in the draw with Kariobangi Sharks.
Also suspended is Sofapaka’s new signing David Simiyu, who picked a yellow card in the draw with Sharks, which was his debut for the new employers. Upon signing, he had picked four yellow cards at former team, Chemelil Sugar.
The two will miss the clash against KCB at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
Ulinzi Stars will also have to make changes in their starting team when they take on Wazito FC, as left back, Harun Mwale, is suspended, having picked his fifth yellow card of the season in the win over Posta Rangers.
Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Sven Yidah was the only player sent off on Match Day 16 , as his team faced Sofapaka. As a result, he will have to sit out the match against Bandari FC at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.
