Gor Mahia new signing Juma Balinya could make his debut for the club this weekend against Bandari FC after the defending KPL champions finalized on his documentation two weeks after he put pen to paper.
The Ugandan forward was roped in from Tanzania heavyweights Yanga FC on a two year deal but was made to wait for his debut as the club sought to have his International Transfer Certificate (ICT) cleared.
He is now inline to make his debut for the club this Saturday against the Dockers in Nakuru.
Balinya’s capture could be seen as a direct swap between the two clubs after Gor’s Ivorian forward Gislain Yikpe left the club late last year to link up with the Tanzania side.
The Ugandan forward who finished last season’s Ugandan Premier League (UPL) as the top scorer with 17 goals for Police FC is believed to have terminated his contract with Yanga due to a lack of payment, a similar situation that forced Yikpe and other players out of Gor Mahia during this mid-season window.
