Posta Rangers were 3-0 winners over Wazito FC on Saturday in round 18 of the KPL and after the game head coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo heaped praise on his team’s new mid-season acquisitions who got the chance to impress.
Humphrey Okoti, Ezekiel Okare and Clinton Kisiavuki caught the eye of the veteran tactician during Saturday’s win in Machakos and particularly former KCB midfielder Kisiavuki who netted the mailmen’s third goal to add onto strikes from Issioufou Burhana (own-goal) and Joseph Mbugi.
“I am happy with how my players have played,” Omollo said after the game, “I told them that this was a game that they had to push themselves and they did.
“But what has really impressed me the most is how the players that I have signed in mid-season have played. If you look at Okoti and Kisiavuki they have really played well especially Kisiavuki who I believe was the man of the match. Their performances ensured that Wazito didn’t trouble us.”
Omollo, who led Tusker to the 2011 KPL title, also touched on his team’s next game which will be against Bandari FC.
“It will be another tough game but we go into it buoyed by the fact that we have now won three games on the trot. There have also been several changes since we last faced off with them having a new coach so I believe that we will be okay against them,” he said.
Saturday’s win has Rangers in 8th place on the KPL log with 28 points.
