Elvis Rupia scored on his debut to hand AFC Leopards a well deserved 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars at the Afraha Stadium in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Round 19 clash at the Afraha Stadium on Sunday 2 February.
Leopards were by far the better side in the game, downing the home side, who went to the game unbeaten in 15 matches.
Ulinzi’s day was further worsened by the sending off of key man Boniface Okinyi in the 82nd minute, and later Oscar Wamalwa dislocating his shoulder in the 90th minute and was stretchered off straight to hospital.
Ulinzi Stars were the favorites going to the game but things changed so fast as they took too long to settle in the game, and only survived by great saves from skipper James Saruni.
That would however last until the final minute when a forward surge from Leopards caught the Ulinzi defence napping and though Saruni made a point blank save at first, the rebound found Rupia well placed to slam home.
