KCB FC saw their titles hopes take another hit as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Bandari FC in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) catch-up fixture played at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Wednesday 12 February.
After a barren opening stanza, the game sprung into life in the second with the hosts surging to a two goal lead thanks to a penalty from William Wadri and a strike from substitute Yema Mwana. KCB, who have now lost twice in succession, got a consolation from Reagan Otieno with two minutes remaining on the clock.
Zedekiah Otieno’s charges, who could have moved to within four points of top spot, now lie in 4th place with 38 points, seven points adrift of leaders Gor Mahia who also dropped points against Western Stima on Wednesday.
Prior to Wednesday’s game, the Bankers had also lost by a solitary goal to Kariobangi Sharks.
On their part, Bandari break a five game winless run with the victory and now sit in 11th place with 23 points. The Mombasa outfits last win, a 2-0 win over Kisumu All Stars, was registered in December.
